AutDoc — Windows Desktop App

Understand, document, and review your Power Automate flows.

AutDoc turns exported Power Automate flow definitions into navigable diagrams and structured, reviewable documentation — processed locally on your Windows device. Built for the real work of review, handoff, support, and governance.

What AutDoc does

Turn flows nobody remembers into documentation anyone can read.

AutDoc is built for the people who own flows after they're built — Power Platform consultants, internal automation owners, support teams, and IT reviewers.

Flow documentation

Capture the context that never makes it into the flow itself — purpose, business context, assumptions, known limitations, and change notes, plus metadata like business owner, technical owner, department, and environment.

Flow visualization

AutDoc generates Power Automate–oriented diagrams from imported flow definitions — triggers, actions, conditions, branches, loops, scopes, connectors, and dependencies — so you can navigate and inspect a flow visually.

Action-level documentation & review

Document individual actions with Business Explanations, Trigger Explanations, comments, and review decisions — and jump straight to actions that are undocumented or still need review.

Findings

Automated static checks surface patterns and potential issues worth reviewing. Findings give reviewers a structured starting point for investigating flow design and supportability — they support human judgment, they don't replace it.

How it works

From exported flow to finished documentation.

Export

Export your flow from Power Automate as a solution ZIP or a supported workflow JSON definition.

Import

Open the export in AutDoc on your Windows device. Processing happens locally, and your source definition is never modified.

Document & review

Explore the diagram, author flow and action documentation, record review decisions, and work through Findings.

Export documentation

Produce documentation PDFs and SVG, PNG, or HTML diagrams to share with your team, your client, or your reviewers.

Built for real review work

Documentation that holds up when someone else takes over.

Whether you're handing a flow to a client, preparing support to own it, or reviewing what a departed colleague built — AutDoc structures the work of understanding and recording how a flow really operates.

Business & Trigger Explanations

Explain what each action does in business terms, and what starts the flow and why that trigger matters — so documentation makes sense to more people than just the person who built it.

A dedicated review workflow

Record a review decision, reviewer, date, evidence, and notes for each action. Navigation shortcuts take you straight to whatever still needs attention.

Review Profiles Lite

Built-in profiles — General Review, Handoff Readiness, Support Readiness, and Governance Review — organize existing Findings into a Profile Focus and Additional Findings. Profiles change emphasis only: they don't hide Findings, change severity, or certify compliance.

Comments, labels & highlights

Annotate diagram nodes with comments, labels, and highlights — and choose whether comments appear in your exported documentation.

Exports

Documentation you can hand to someone.

Documentation PDFs can include your flow documentation, a flow element index, the diagram, connector documentation and risk notes where applicable, a diagram comment legend, and per-action documentation and review — including Business and Trigger Explanations.

Privacy & data handling

Local-first by design.

Your flows are processed on your machine.

AutDoc works with exported flow definitions — it does not connect to your Microsoft tenant.

  • AutDoc processes imported Power Automate definitions locally on your Windows device.
  • Your source flow definition is not modified.
  • Review and documentation data is stored locally beside your source in a .autdoc-review.json sidecar file — plain data you can back up and version alongside the flow it describes.
  • You can inspect the raw flow definition in-app, and AutDoc reminds you that raw definitions may contain sensitive details such as endpoints, connection information, and business logic.

AutDoc pilot

Request pilot access.

AutDoc is currently available to a limited group of pilot users. If you work with Microsoft Power Automate and are interested in improving flow documentation, review, supportability, or handoff, you can request access using the form.

Pilot participants may be asked to share feedback on usability, bugs, workflow needs, and potential improvements.

What to expect

  • Access is limited, and each request is reviewed individually — we can't approve every request
  • Approved participants receive private download instructions by email
  • AutDoc is pilot software — your feedback genuinely shapes the product
  • Pilot installers are for approved participants and shouldn't be shared onward
